Lawyer Majd Harb accuses Hezbollah of 'poisoning the Lebanese' over Iranian medicines

A legal complaint alleges Iranian-made drugs entered Lebanon without proper testing; the claims have not been independently confirmed.

Lawyer Majd Harb has accused Hezbollah of "poisoning the Lebanese" through the import of Iranian medicines, according to Ici Beyrouth.

Al-Ain reports that Harb and fellow lawyers filed a complaint alleging that Iranian-made biosimilar drugs were admitted to the Lebanese market outside legal and administrative procedures, without laboratory testing and without adequate scientific data on quality and safety. The complainants warn of serious risks to patients and to the national health system.

These are allegations made by the complainants. We found no independent confirmation and no ruling by the judiciary, and the Health Ministry's position was not available at the time of writing.

Lebanese Lobby backs the judiciary in examining the complaint fully and transparently. Patients' safety, and the state's sole authority over what enters the national market, must come before any political interest.
