El canciller francés Jean-Noël Barrot se reunió en Beirut con el presidente Joseph Aoun, el primer ministro Nawaf Salam y el presidente del Parlamento Nabih Berri sobre el después de la FINUL, según Asharq Al-Awsat.

Aoun prefiere prorrogarla pero admite alternativas que mantengan una presencia internacional. Salam pidió una presencia capaz de vigilar e informar de violaciones bajo un nuevo mandato del Consejo de Seguridad y un Ejército más fuerte. Berri pidió evitar cualquier vacío.
